Common Questions About Ontario Solar Grants
Can I combine grants?
Yes — in most cases, federal and provincial programs are stackable. For example, you can apply for both the Canada Greener Homes Grant ($5,000) and the interest-free Greener Homes Loan ($40,000) at the same time. Solar Canada identifies every program you qualify for and applies for them together.
Do I have to apply for the grants myself?
No. Solar Canada handles all grant applications on your behalf as part of every installation. We know the specific requirements for each program and ensure your project is documented correctly to maximize approval.
How long does it take to recieve grant money?
Federal grant processing times vary. Canada Greener Homes typically takes 6–12 weeks after your post-retrofit audit is submitted. We guide you through every step and follow up with the programs on your behalf.
Yes — as of 2026, the core federal programs remain active. However, program funding is finite and some programs have closed early in past years when funds ran out. We recommend acting sooner rather than later to lock in current availability.
